Vietnamese Lantern Festival

The Vietnamese Lantern Festival returns to Darwin Waterfront for a special 5th anniversary celebration, bringing the community together for an evening of culture, colour, flavour and light.

This year, the festival will showcase the rich cultural heritage of Southern Vietnam, from the nostalgic charm of old Sài Gòn to the peaceful waterways and vibrant traditions of the Mekong Delta. Inspired by the Vietnamese Mid-Autumn Festival, the event celebrates family, togetherness and the beauty of Vietnamese culture in the heart of Darwin.

Festivalgoers can wander through a colourful lantern-filled atmosphere, enjoy live music and cultural performances, take part in traditional folk games and experience activities that highlight the stories and spirit of Southern Vietnam. The event will also feature a variety of Vietnamese cuisine, offering visitors the chance to enjoy familiar favourites and authentic flavours that celebrate Vietnam's rich food culture.
