1861 RESTAURANT & BAR
- Ever wondered why we're called 1861? It's not the year we opened (we're good, but we're not that good).
- Back in 1861, someone stumbled across something pretty special in Roebuck Bay – the pearl oyster Pinctada maxima. Turns out it was the largest pearl shell in the world.
- We're talking six to twelve inches across, which had Europeans and Americans absolutely losing their minds over the size of these beauties. So yeah, we thought that deserved a restaurant named after it.
- Open for breakfast and dinner, 1861's the kind of place where you can roll up in your thongs after a day exploring Broome, or dress up a bit if that's more your vibe. Either way, we're happy to have you.
- The menu? Think local flavours that actually taste like they're from around here, not like they've travelled halfway across the world to get to your plate. And if you're wondering what goes well with a Broome sunset, we've got a few ideas about that too.
- Ready to see what all the fuss is about? We'll save you a spot at the best restaurant in Broome.
