Care for Nature

  • Water: Use sun-safe clothing, eco-friendly repellents and report any leaks to Power & Water.

  • Waste: Bring reusable bottles, cups, cutlery & bags. Take rubbish with you & recycle.

  • Wildlife & Flora: Stay on tracks, do not feed or touch animals, do not collect plants/rocks/shells, do not disturb Aboriginal rock art or sacred sites.

  • Crocwise always: Swim only in areas marked safe. Respect the wild and their home.

  • Support conservation: Visitors are required to buy a Parks Pass to enter NT national parks → More info here.

Weather & Seasons

Darwin has two main seasons, the Dry from May to October and the Wet from November to April, along with six unique Gulumoerrgin (Larrakia) seasonal cycles↗. Conditions can change quickly especially during the Wet Season so checking the latest weather reports↗ helps you travel safely and responsibly.
