Million Dollar Road Trip
Are you ready to embark on a journey of a lifetime? The “Million Dollar Road Trip Northern Territory” competition invites you to explore the breathtaking landscapes of Australia’s Northern Territory, from the red deserts to lush, tropical waterfalls. Starting May 1 until September 30, 2024 this is an exciting opportunity to witness the untamed beauty of the NT and may be your chance to win one million dollars!

WHO CAN ENTER?
Entry is open to all residents of Australia of 18 years of age or older as at the date of entry except directors, management, employees and immediate families of the Promoter (Caravan Industry Association of Australia) and their associated companies and agencies and participating outlets. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, defacto spouse, child or stepchild (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step brother, step-sister or 1st cousin.
Please note that each participating caravan parks, visitor information centre, businesses or tour operators submission generates different entry point per night or visit.

East Arnhem Land is 100% Aboriginal owned land. Although this region is private land, East Arnhem Land is 100% Aboriginal owned land. Although this region is private land, Traditional Owners welcome visitors to the region and recreation areas. Depending on where you will be visiting in East Arnhem Land it is important to ensure that you have the right permits for your trip.
WEST ARNHEM LAND
West Arnhem Land is a habitat for abundant wildlife including saltwater crocodiles, buffalo, dugong, nesting turtles and migratory birds. One of the last pristine areas in the world, its small population is predominantly Aboriginal people, whose traditional culture remains largely intact. The region is an exciting destination for travellers wanting authentic traditional cultural experiences. Permits are required to visit Aboriginal communities and to fish in certain areas (Blue Mud Bay Registration). For information and applications visit nlc.org.au/apply-for-permit.

Entering Tiwi Island
If you want to visit, work, conduct research, camp, fish, hunt, or live on the Tiwi Islands, permission must be obtained in accordance with the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976.
No Permit Required to visit Tiwi Island IF
1. SeaLink ferry Wurrumiyanga day visitors and hosted tours
Day visitors travelling on on the SeaLink NT ferry to Wurrumiyanga on Bathurst Island or visiting the islands on a hosted tour, such as Tiwi Tours, do not need to apply for a permit. Day passes will be issued to visitors.
2. Leaseholders on the Tiwi Islands
If you lease a parcel of land in any community on the Tiwi Islands you do not need a permit to access your lease to carry out your business.
3. Permit-Free Days
From time to time Tiwi Island communities designate Permit-Free days, such as the annual Football Grand Final and art sale held in March at Wurrumiyanga on Bathurst Island. Permit-Free days are advertised in advance. An exception to Permit-Free: those who seek a Film/Media or Research permit will need to apply for one in all instances.

Please do this before you go as you can't pay at the park or reserve.
The fee will depend on the campground facilities. Camping areas with more facilities are usually more expensive. Generators and caravans are only allowed in certain campgrounds.
